St. Louis Blues ticket win!

As many of you know I enter sweepstakes. Back in November I won the Great Clips Game Day experience for my nephew that I found on www.sweetiessecretsweeps.com
I decided to make a weekend of it & started off by booking a rental car through Enterprise  and a hotel through Orbitz at Drury inn. The guys at Enterprise were amazingly nice and gave me an upgrade for my wait! Saturday morning we made the 4 hour drive to St. Louis and stopped at the Science Museum in St. Louis first! My nephew had a blast & best part about the museum was that most of it is free! We did go back the next day to watch the Age of Airplane movie. The movie was good and explained the history of aviation and how it has evolved!  We then headed to the hotel and when we arrived at the hotel and the front desk was very welcoming and friendly! We did not have to wait long to check in and were headed to our room. We dropped off our stuff and headed to the Scott Trade Center for the game.
We arrived at Executive office where they gave my nephew a goody bag  with a Jersey, poster, calendar and magnet. We then got to go back near the locker room to meet a player and get his autograph and pic. After that they told my nephew he could fist bump the players when they headed out to the ice. Thankfully my friend and her husband came and were able to video tape this from two angles. They also had a camera man video tape him and during the 1st intermission they played it on the jumbotron! My nephew was so excited about this! The game was all of our 1st NHL experience and the St. Louis blues even won the game! Couldn't have had a better 1st NHL game experience!!

Hoover Dam to Grand Canyon Part 1

May 2015 I flew Southwest airlines from New Orleans to Las Vegas where we rented a car from Fox's. I was hesitant to rent from there because of mixed reviews, but I had nothing but positive things with our 2015 Kia Optima!

We headed down the Interstate and first stop was Hoover Dam. While I wasn't really wanting to stop here I am glad that I did! It's amazing how the Dam was built and how large it is!

After Hoover Dam we found some lunch in Boulder City and headed towards Arizona where we made a few stops along route 66 both on the way to the Grand Canyon and on the way back! There is so much to see and shopping along the way! Every person in Arizona that we met especially on Route 66 was the nicest people I have ever met in my entire life!

After checking out a bunch of shops and stores on Route 66 we saw A sign for Bearizona and decided to check out what it was all about.
To be continued........

Bahamas

In May of 2013 I decided I wanted to take a trip out of the country and decided to visit the Bahamas! I could not find anyone to go with so I decided to go alone! Having never been out of the country I decided to contact a travel agent. I contacted Stephanee at Plans in Paradise and set up the trip!

I had an early morning flight and arrived in the Bahamas around noon. While waiting to go through customs there was a Caribbean band playing music and a guy welcoming everyone to the Bahamas! It was very welcoming. When I arrived at the RIU Palace Paradise Island my room was not quite ready so I decided to grab some food and sit on the deck and watch the waves!  A short while later my room was ready and I had an amazing room and view!!

While visiting the Bahamas I had planned a Dolphin experience next door at Atlantis! The RIU is so close to Atlantis that you can just walk there to the Casino or Night club. I did have to take a van to the actual Dolphin encounter. This is one of those things that had been on my bucket list since I was a little girl! I was able to watch some of the other groups before mine and was so excited to be able to be in the water and touch a dolpin!   The whole experience was amazing and highly recommend everyone to try this at least once in their life! The staff at Atlantis was very nice and helpful!

When I arrived back to the RIU Palace I went up to my room and found this sitting in my room! I was so shocked! It was a very thoughtful and unexpected gesture! The fresh fruit was delicious and much needed after a morning in the sun!

The next day I went into Nassau. I boarded a ferry and headed over to the market! On the way there the captain told us all about the history of Nassau and Paradise Island! Once I arrived in Nassau I went straight to the market! It was so fun to shop and look around the markets! I bought lots of souvenirs to bring back to family and friends! When I was getting ready to return to Paradise Island from Nassau a storm started to roll in!  I was hoping to make it back before the storm actually hit! I was half way back when it started storming! Talk about being scared! I was by myself on a little ferry in the Caribbean and no life jacket on!  Thankfully I made it back to Paradise Island safe and sound!

Every evening the RIU had entertainment in the showroom area! This was my favorite part of the night when they had actual Bahamian dancers on the stage juggling with fire!

My whole visit at the RIU was amazing! The staff was extraordinary! The front desk lady who checked me in always remembered my name whenever I would go to the front desk. All of the staff was extremely helpful and welcoming! The food at the buffet and restaurant I ate at was amazing! I would recommend this resort to anyone visiting the Bahamas!
